Bristi wanted to create a more usable space in her 1930’s semi-detached property in Oxford. The extension that already existed did not perform the function that Bristi wanted from it, so she engaged lapd Architects to create a hobby room that was not only functional but which matched her personality and way of living.

We worked with Bristi to create a design that would suit the context, not overbearing on neighbours or overworking the project in terms of budget and scope. She wanted the extension to become a true focal point of the property. This is where her passions and personality would shine through, being a perfect space for guests and for those quieter moments of living as well.

We decided to extend to the rear with a powder coated aluminium full height glazed opening providing the visual and physical link to the garden. Natural light now floods this unique space not only through the main rear entrance but also through further windows and skylights higher up. With its bold colours and exposed steel beam/ timber rafters the space is definitely an expression of Bristi’s personality as well as a beautiful new space in which she can enjoy her home.
