“Having never used an architect before or even done any kind of home renovations, we were keen to find someone who could help us look at the house in different ways and advise on what was possible and what wasn’t. We chose lapd originally because they had experience with houses that were listed and of character.

We have always loved our home, and really needed to trust someone that could come up with ideas that would add to its character whilst providing us with a more family-friendly living space.

On our initial meetings, we instantly felt that lapd understood what we were trying to achieve, and even though some of our ideas weren’t quite right, it was important to go through that process, and understand what was best for the property.

Their help and guidance with planning was invaluable, and again with help on contractor selection and the tender side of the process. With their help, everything was made so much simpler and clearer throughout. The day that the builders arrived was so much less daunting; there was a very thorough plan from lapd’s drawings and all we had to do was help to make a few minor decisions along the way. Every stage of the build was just so exciting.

The Barn is now the most amazing family home for us, and we didn’t realise that we could love our home any more than we already did.”
