The Cottage is a Grade II Listed, 2 storey residential dwelling with detached garage located in a conservation area in Oxfordshire.
The site contained a redundant outbuilding to the rear of the dwelling in close proximity to the main house. Due to family needs and the constraints of the existing building, our clients brief to LAPD was to utilise the outbuilding and link this with the main house.
The new link was kept as low as possible so as to avoid any overshadowing to the neighbouring building. The link is clearly defined leaving the existing buildings clearly legible. A complimentary palette of materials was chosen for the link to create a unique internal space with character.
