At the end of January lapd Architects hosted two public consultations for the Regal Centre project. The number of people who came and shared their thoughts and ideas with us was a pertinent example of the strength of Wallingford’s engaged and caring community. Further to these meetings, the young people of Wallingford Secondary School contributed their own thoughts and ideas – broadening the range of the consultation’s demographic and taking into account the whole of Wallingford’s multi-faceted community. These public engagement efforts were coordinated by the team at lapd Architects.
The responses were thoughtful, imaginative and informative. With a total of 330 responses we were able to create a concept design that has its roots firmly in the voices and opinions of those who will use and benefit from the Regal project in the future. We used the Town Council and community’s input to give heart and character to our concept design.
First and foremost, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend the consultations, or who completed a questionnaire in their own time. You have helped form the foundations of a concept design that has Wallingford’s community at its centre.
